GIRARD, Robin Rene – 50, Oxford, formerly of Truro and Glenholme, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at home. Born December 16, 1958, in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Eileen (Lyons) Rafuse. Robin was a loving wife, mother grandmother and sister who cherished her family and the time they spent together. Robin is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Norman David; daughters, Mindy Girard (Reg Denning), Kemptown; Crystal Girard (Jared Hunter), Amherst; grandchildren, Jesse, Keona, Danielle, Ethan; sisters, Patricia Lewis, Bible Hill; Linda (Gerry) Dykens, Lower Debert; brother, Stanley “Stan” (Marg) Rafuse, Lower Debert; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Dawn Rafuse, Mary (Louis) McCarron. A graveside funeral service will be held in November at Folly Village Cemetery, Glenholme, with Reverend Don MacQueen officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robin’s memory to Lung Association of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society are welcomed.
