It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of the late Alice Mary Bungay, announces her peaceful passing surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 23, 2018, at Western Regional Memorial Hospital at the age of 71. Born in Burgeo, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Sarah (Durnford) Dominie. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her loving sons, Eddie (Angela) Bungay, Halifax, NS and Darrell Bungay (Amanda Short), Cape Ray, NL, granddaughter, Meredith Janes, who was her pride and joy. She is survived by her brothers, Frank (Honor) Dominie of Botwood, and Wayne (Marilyn) Dominie of Port aux Basques, and sister, Norma Dutot of Port-aux-Basques. She also leaves to mourn a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and others who loved her deeply. Alice was predeceased by her brother, George (Annie) Dominie, brother-in-law, Maxwell Dutot. The family received family and friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Port-aux-Basques on Sunday, February 25, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. In keeping with Alice’s wish cremation will follow. A celebration of her life took place on Tuesday, February 27, 11:00 a.m. at St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating.
