The death occurred peacefully with family by his side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Saturday, March 10th, 2018 of Thomas Carew of Summerside, aged 78 years. Tom was born in St. Johnís, Nfld. to the late Thomas and Annie (nee Picco) Carew. Beloved husband of Janet (nee Arsenault) Carew and loving father of Shelley (Daryle) Nicholson of Kensington, PEI, Gregory (Penelope) of Ottawa, ON. and Bruce (Abbigail) of Dartmouth, NS. Also lovingly remembered by his 4 grandchildren Cody MacIntyre of Ellerslie, Cortney Atwell-Carew of Halifax, NS., James Carew of Whistler, BC. and Natalie Carew of Ottawa, ON., great-grandchildren Quinn, Bryer and Nora (Kayla and Cody) MacIntyre of Ellersie. Survived by his sisters Madeline (Bill) Heffernan, Charlotte (Brian) OíRielly, brother Brendan (Rita), sisters-in-law Pat and Marion Carew, brother-in-law Kevin Heffernan, cousins Berniece (Leo) Puddester, Mary Carey, Donna OíBrien of Bay Bulls, Nfld. along with numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brothers Calvin, Patrick (Flora), Harold, sisters Josephine Heffernan, Gertrude (John) Heffernan and Margaret (Sooley). Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday, March 14th, then to St. Paulís Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place later in the church cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Tomís memory to the Parkinson Association, Canadian Cancer Society or Palliative Care Unit Prince County Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
