JACQUARD, M. Alma – age 78, Prince St., Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born February 25, 1940 in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late John Alexander and Helen Mary (Hubbard) Hamilton. Alma was a homemaker, having also worked as a waitress and at Dominion Textiles in Yarmouth. She enjoyed travelling with her sisters, reading and doing ceramic work. She is survived by her husband, Nathan L. Jacquard, as well as by children, Debbie (Brian) Burke, Yarmouth; Cathy (Gordie) Gavel, Hebron; Mike (Dawn) Jacquard, Brooklyn; Dave Jacquard (girlfriend Kim), Saulnierville, as well as by grandchildren, Chuck Hubbard, Nathan Burke, Tyler Burke, Ryland Jacquard, Kara Saulnier and great grandchildren, Rachel and Mac Hubbard. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Nancy Mallia, Waverley; Carol Muise, Campbell River, BC; Tom (Diane) Hamilton, Pembroke; Harvey (Lorraine) Hamilton, Yarmouth; David (Diane) Hubbard, Glen Haven; Theresa Ritchie (Junior Doucette), Pembroke. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by brothers Jack Hubbard and George “Bunny” Hubbard. In keeping with Alma’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service took place at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 29 from H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth, Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiated. Interment will take place at a later date in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery.
