Duane Sears
Duane R. Sears, age 81, of Westcock, passed away at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Tuesday, May 17, 2011.
Born in Sackville, NB, he was a son of the late Coleman and Isabel (Hicks) Sears.
Duane was a 25 year veteran of the RCAF having retired in 1975, Foreman at Enterprise Foundry and lastly at Weslabs. He was a member of the Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and a former Warrant Officer with the 8th Canadian Hussars and Squadron Sergeant Major. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. A radio ham and Westcumb Amateur Radio Club member.
Sadly missed by 3 sons, Bruce (Linda), Amherst, Phillip (Jeanne d'Arc Chavarie), Westcock and Mark (Kimberley) of Miramichi; 14 grandchildren, James, Eric, Nicole, Christopher, Candice, Matthew, Michael, Brandon, Amity, Benjamin, Patrick, Craig, Travis and Krista; two great grandsons, Jacob and Cohen; a sister, Gwen Crossman, Sackville; 2 brothers, Chum (Betty) Sears, Sackville and Carson Sears, Cambridge, ON; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara (Ward) in 2004 and a son Edward in 1978; and by brothers Ron and Eyrol.
Duane's remains have been cremated under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) from where visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday, May 20, 2011. A memorial service will be held from the funeral home on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11 am. Burial to follow in the Westcock Cemetery
