SAVOIE, CLARA - The death of Clara Marie-Helene (Gallant) Savoie, wife of the late Wilfred Joseph Savoie occurred peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born 1919 in Kedgwick, NB she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Alice (Arseneault) Gallant. She had worked for the DVA Hospital for 13 years retiring in 1978. Previously she worked for the Saint John General Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital. Clara was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Member of the BVM at the Assumption Parish and the 30 Up Club. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed. She is survived by her sons Raymond Savoie (Cecile) of Chalk River, ON and Donald Savoie (Michele) of Saint John; daughters Dianne Foote of Saint John, Linda Bruton (Dennis) of Kanata, ON and Freda Robertston of Saint John; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother Normand Gallant (Lydia) of Bouctouche; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, was predeceased by brothers Clarence Gallant, Leo Gallant and Alfred Gallant.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Rose of Lima Church on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
