Bruce grew up in Belleville, Ontario. As a teen Bruce played lead guitar in the band known as the Chartel's and once appeared on a televised talent show. He became a sheet metal worker in the early sixties. In the early seventies he moved his family to Kamloops, BC. There was never a place more beautiful to Bruce than Kamloops.

Bruce met Barb prior to his retirement. They had eight happy years together. He enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening and lived life to the fullest. He loved going up into the hills collecting wood.

Bruce was often referred to as the "Pizza God" because he made the most awesome pizza for his family and lucky friends.

Bruce's keen sense of humour helped him survive two separate bouts of cancer. He fought a courageous battle against leukemia right to the end.

By Bruce's request there will be no formal service. Friends and family are invited to the Army Navy Club, 444 Tranquille Road, Kamloops on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. to share memories.

A special thank you goes out to the volunteers and staff at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice home for treating Bruce and his family with such compassion and care. Thank you also to the staff at the Royal Inland Hospital and especially Paul Martin, RN.
