Eric Joseph Chandler

Eric Joseph Chandler

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, Eric Joseph Chandler, aged 69. Eric passed away due to cancer on Saturday, March 17, 2018 in Victoria, B.C. with his beloved Monica at his side. Eric was born in Charlottetown on April 22, 1948 to Wallace and Ada Chandler. He grew up in Charlottetown in the 1960's, attended Colonel Gray High School and UPEI, and was known as a talented musician and athlete. In 1976 he moved to Victoria and became involved in theatre and later television. From an earlier relationship he was blessed with two children, Danica (children Keely and Aaron) and Ben. Seventeen years ago, Eric became a Counselor for the Victoria Cool Aid Society, a community program dedicated to improving the lives of marginalized people. This career change inspired and fulfilled him for the rest of his life. He is greatly missed by his brothers and sisters, John (Doris), Linda Deveaux, Carol, Brenda, Harvey (Mary) and Barry (Debby) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Ada and Wallace Chandler and sisters, Millie Praught and Marie (Donald) MacEachern. Thanks to everyone for their support regarding the loss of our brother Eric. If so desired, donations in his memory to the Victoria Cool Aid Society (https://coolaid.org/donate/) or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
