Claude Wheaton

It is with great sadness the family of the late Claude (Jim) Walter James Wheaton age 69 of Upper Nappan, announce his passing on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Preston and Reta Myrn (O’Blenis) Wheaton.
Jim served nine years in the Royal Canadian Regiment in Ontario and later in Germany and Holland.
He returned home in the late 1960’s and worked as a construction worker and as a Stationary Engineer at the School for the Deaf in Amherst.
Jim later worked for the Chignecto School Board as a custodian retiring in 2000.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, music and spending time with his family.
Jim leaves to mourn his three sisters Norma (Doug) Robison of Harvey Station, NB, Ida (Bob) Davison and Donna Jackson both of Amherst, one step daughter Bonnie May (Rennie) Bugley of Fox Ranch Road, Amherst and one step grandson Christopher and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife the former Dorothy McPhee and one brother Wallace in infancy.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. from Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre Foundation or the charity of your choice.
