DUFFIE, MINNIE MAE - The death of Minnie Mae Duffie of Geary, NB occurred on May 18th, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born September 18th, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Osborne J. and Belle (Carr) Smith and wife of the late Eugene H. Duffie. Minnie is survived by her daughter, Rilla Smith (Vincent) of Geary, NB; three grandchildren, Kevin (Shelley), David (Jane) and Sean (Stephanie); three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Haley and Vinnie; siblings, Ena Carr and Nora Cogswell, both of Geary, NB and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Eugene and her sister, Retta Piercy.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Thursday, May 19th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Friday, May 20th, 2011 at 11:00 am with Fr. Ken Weir as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.
