At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, of John Albert Edward Toombs of Ebenezer, and formerly of Bedeque, aged 76 years. Born in Bedeque on Sept. 26, 1932, son of the late Irving and Jennie (Dingwell) Toombs. Brother of Arthur (Lourice) Toombs, Burlington, Ont., Garth (Faye) Toombs, North Bedeque, and Cottie (Jim) Dobson, California. Uncle of James (Tanya), Steven, Richard (Angela) and Andrew (Melanie) Toombs, Susan (Mike) Sheppard and five grandnephews. Also surviving are special friends and caregivers, Blaine Simpson and his mother Barbara. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, where a private funeral service will be held on Monday. Interment in the Lower Bedeque Cemetery. No visitation by request. If so desired contributions may be made to the Lower Bedeque Cemetery.
