It is with great sadness that the family of Ernest Goodwin announces his passing on May 17, 2011 at the age of 82 years.

Ernest will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Mary and his children, Catherine (Fred), Robert (Deborah), Kevin, Sheila (Tim - Haley and Chad) and Dennis. Ernest will also be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Michael, Valerie, John, Ryan, Amanda, Kyle, and great grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew, Tianna, Connor and Mylah.

Ernest was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Ernest and brothers Dennis and Bernard Goodwin.
Ernest was born on September 29, 1928 in Stockport (Manchester), England. He joined the English Air Force at a young age prior to studying to become a chemist. Ernest moved to Canada in 1957 where he worked in the mining industry as a chief chemist, primarily with Noranda Mines Ltd., before retiring in 1992. In recent years, Ernest has enjoyed playing golf, reciting English nursery rhymes and spending time with all of his family and friends.

A Celebration of Ernest's life will be held on Saturday, May 21st, at 2:00 p.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel, 513 Seymour Street, Kamloops.
