ENFIELD - Christena Louise Patterson, 83 of Enfield, N.S., passed away August 21, 2009.
Born in Thorburn, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Jess and Harvey MacDonald.
Louise was employed at Ewart Presbyterian College for over 20 years and continued to reside in Toronto until her return to Nova Scotia two years ago.
She was a former Sunday School teacher and CGIT leader at Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn prior to her move to Ontario. She was a former member of Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn and Davenport Presbyterian Church, Toronto. Louise was an avid supporter of numerous charities with her continuous donations of knitting and crafts until her death.
Louise is survived by her sons, Doug (Margie) Cameron, Thorburn and their children, Jeanne, Garibaldi Highlands, B.C., and Bob, Petawawa, Ontario; Dan (Emily) Patterson, Enfield and their children, Andrea, Halifax and Alex, Enfield; two great-granddaughters; and brother Leslie (Celestine) MacDonald of Stellarton/New Glasgow.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Jean Beckwith and Muriel Henderson; and brother, Stewart MacDonald.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, August 24 in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral to be held Tuesday, August 25 at 2 p.m. in Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
