MOFFITT, GERALDINE (GERRY) ELIZABETH - Gerry E. Moffitt of Harvey Station, NB passed away May 19, 2011 at the Harvey Community Hospital. She was born in Newmarket, NB, on June 1, 1920, a daughter of the late Herbert and Clara (Walsh) Goodine. Gerry lived for most of her life in Harvey. She was a gifted artist with lots of paintings, covered bridges being her favorite. Gerry enjoyed giving art lessons, playing cards and scrabble, shopping, camping, gardening, reading and traveling, especially her trip to England three years ago. She loved her family and was proud of each and every one of them.
Gerry is survived her sons, Don Burrell (Joan), Cambridge, ON and his children, Alison and Michele (Dave), Darrell Burrell (Linda Lou), Saint John, NB and his children, Stephen (Tabatha), Karen (Darren) and Lisa (Sean), her daughters, Eleanor Rutherford, Tweedside, NB, and her children, Heather (Rick), Andrea (Gordon) and Denise (Scott), Marilyn Wood (Peter), Harvey, NB and their children, Andrew (Bev) and Sheldon (Christa) and Gloria Little (Mitch), Harvey, NB and their children, Jody (Tanya) and Ryan (Lindy); and several great grandchildren; her brother, Cecil Goodine (Sylvia), Newmarket, NB; her sister, Irene Warnock, Harvey, NB; two sisters-in-law, Muriel Goodine and Barbara Goodine and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Gerry was predeceased by her husband, Willis Moffitt,, Russell Burrell, the father of her children, her sister, Kathleen Cole, her three brothers, Dave, Arnold and Israel Goodine, her son-in-law, Winston Rutherford and a daughter-in-law, Heather Burrell.
Visitation will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station, NB on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 2412 Highway 3, Harvey Station on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Basil Lowery officiating. Interment will follow at the Newmarket Cemetery.
