It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our dear mother, Violet Hussey, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on May 19, 2011.
She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lydia (Hiltz) Sawler of Western Shore.
Through her life, mom lived in many places, but she felt most at home in Ingonish and Sydney, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Violet attended St. John’s Anglican Church and was a lifetime member of the ACW and the alter guild.
Violet was survived by her daughter Glenda (Bob) Moncton; four sons, Bill (Carolyn) Sydney; Darrell (Jennifer) St. George; Donald (Valerie) Coxheath; Allen (Cindy) Bridgewater; and her brother Scott, Western Shore. She was also survived by her 12 grand children, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mom was predeceased by her husband William Hussey and her son Roy in infancy and her son Stephen. Also her two brothers Roy and Carl.
Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011 at St. John’s Anglican Church, Ingonish. With funeral service Monday May 23, 2011 at 3 p.m. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in Violet’s name can be made to the CNIB foundation or St. John’s Anglican Church.
