Lieu de décès : Glace Bay, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada
Date de décès : 20 mai 2011
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend. Lynda passed away at the Glace Bay Hospital on Friday May 20, 2011, after long, courageous battles with many serious ailments. At her time of passing, Lynda’s loving family was at her side.
Born in Glace Bay in 1962, she was the daughter of Violet (York) and the late Neil James MacNeil.
Lynda graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Glace Bay, and finished first in her nursing class at the City Hospital School of Nursing, Sydney, N.S. After attaining her RN diploma, Lynda nursed in our area hospitals until the time she began her family.
Prior to her many illnesses, Lynda lived life to the fullest. She had a real passion for gardening, camping and the outdoors, enjoying beaches, swimming and soaking up the sun, she was also a very dedicated ‘hockey mom’ taking great pleasure in the accomplishments of her ‘boys’ whom she loved dearly. She also enjoyed dancing, knitting and playing 45’s at the Pensioners’ Club. Lynda was a very strong person; she would always be more concerned about the other patients while she was hospitalized.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Kenny; sons, Kenny, Kyle and Kris; her mother, Violet MacNeil, all of Glace Bay; brothers, Neil (Linda), Nictaux, Wayne (Mary), Hammonds Plains; sisters, Violet (Richard) Daigle, Irene (Gussie) Seward, both of Glace Bay; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation for Lynda Bedecki was held Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass was celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, May 23 at St. Anne’s Church, Glace Bay, with Fr. Leo Boone officiating. A luncheon followed in the church foyer.
In honoring Lynda’s wishes, cremation will take place with interment to follow at a later date.
Donations in Lynda’s memory may be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.
