The death of Edgar "Allen" Hayward, age 91, of Springhill, occurred on Friday, August 21, 2009 at the All Saints Hospital, Springhill.

Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Alonzo and Ellen (Nickerson) Hayward.

Allen will be sadly missed by his wife, Lurley (Brown), Springhill; sons, A. Michael Hayward, Springhill and Ross (Beverley) , Oxford; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was predeceased by brothers, Herman, Hilson, Walter and George and by sisters, Inez, Annie, Freda and Alma.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of the A.H. Brown Funeral Service, Springhill (902-597-2361). A graveside service was be held at the Mapleton Cemetary on August 25th. In lieu of flowers, donations to the VON or Palliative Care gratefully appreciated. www.brownsfuneralhome.com
