Passed away on May 10, 2018, after a lengthy illness, James Joseph William Smith, at the CNRHCC, Grand Falls-Windsor at the age of 74 years. Mr. Smith retired from the RCMP where he served as a civilian member. He was predeceased by his parents: George and Annie Smith; sister Muriel Chambers; brother Georgie Smith; sister-in-law Norma Smith. He leaves to mourn his wife Doreen Florence Smith; sons: George (Jennifer Barthe), Antigonish, NS, Greg (Jennifer Hodder), Bishop’s Falls, NL, Sean (Monica Manz), Toronto, ON; daughter Christina (Robert) Fudge. Also his seven grandchildren: Evan, Courtney, Hailey, Georgia Mae, Austin, and Luc, Christian (and their mother Ginette Cormier); brothers: Alfred, Ron (Mary), Ed (Margie), Paul (Jenny), Bob and Gary and a circle of other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be on Saturday from 7-9 and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 at Hoskins Funeral Home, Bishop's Falls. Father Eugene Morris will conduct the Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Parish, Bishop’s Falls on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. Following cremation, visitation will take place at Caul's Funeral Home, St. John's on Tuesday, May 15 from 3-9 p.m. with a Memorial Service at St. Pius X RC Church on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
