It is with great sadness that we, the family of John Miles, announce his passing at the C.B. Regional Hospital on May 13, 2018. He was the son of the late Albert and Agnes Miles.
John worked at the coke ovens at Sydney Steel for 49 years. John resided in Westmount most of his life and loved hunting, fishing at Lever’s Lake in Gabarus and camping in Ben Eoin. Our parents loved spending time together.
John is survived by the love of his life and best friend of 67 years, Betty (Stone); daughter, Brenda (Jerry) Redmond; son, Jackie; granddaughter, Kimmi (Mike) Wheatley; grandson, Jason (Holley) Redmond; great-grandson, Ty Wheatley and Lacey-Rai Wheatley.
A celebration of John’s life will take place on Wednesday, May 15 at 2 p.m. in the S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Reception to follow. Burial in Forest Haven. At the request of our father, no visitation. Family members only.
