John Don MacDonald

It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our brother John Don MacDonald, age 67, on May 14, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital while surrounded by his loving family. John was the oldest son of the late Danny John and Gladys (Morris) MacDonald.
John started his career in construction, retail sales, and finishing as a welder before being forced to retire due to health issues.
John is survived by his son, John Leon, Owen Sound; partner, Alexis Rodenhiser Sydney Mines; brothers, Wayne (Paulina), Hamilton, Kevin, Thunder Bay, Stan (Molly), Ross Ferry; sisters, Linda (Ronnie) Beddow, Ross Ferry, Mary Marchewka, Florence.
John was predeceased by our parents, brothers Courtland and adopted son Trevor.
As per his request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Unit.
