NEWELL, Samuel John– Passed peacefully away on Thursday, May 19, 2011, in the presence of his loving family at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 86. Predeceased by his wife, Rose; brother, Jake; sister, Mary; sister, Lillian. Leaving to mourn sons: Ross (Elizabeth), Edward (Pearl), Ray (Jean), Ralph (Kay), Cyril (Linda); daughters: Rosalind (Edward McGrath), Jean, Sandra, and Betty. Also leaving to mourn sister, Joan; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; special friend, Virtue Sharpe; sister-in-law, Lydia Martin; sister-in-law, Bennett Foster; also other relatives and friends. Visitation Sunday, May 22, at Caul’s Funeral Home in Torbay from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Bauline Line, Pouch Cove, Monday, May 23, 2 p.m. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the United Church in Pouch Cove.
