David Peck

Lieu de naissance : Terre-Neuve, Canada

Lieu de décès : Terre-Neuve, Canada

David George Peck, age 62 of Amherst, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center after a brief illness.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Pearl (Glenwright) and Charles Peck of Springhill.
Facing an uphill battle at the early age of 12 when he was diagnosed with arthritis and a hip replacement at age 21, David refused to let this dictate his life. Always the perfectionist, David would push himself to take on everything from overseeing every aspect of building his Amherst home, running a successful business (WestWind Business Services) to building a race car with his son and competing in two Targa Newfoundland rallies. David was also employed with Rayel Services for 42 years, the last few through WestWind.
David will be missed by his family and all those who knew him.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife Edith (Landry), Amherst; son David C. (Christa Dunsford), Mission, BC; brother Arnold C, Amherst; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased by his mother.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst (902-667-8777) where his memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 2 pm, Rev. Patti Blundell officiating. There will be no visitation at the request of the family.
Those wishing to make a donation in David's memory may do so to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center or a charity of your choice.
