Shirley Mae Ripley age 72, of Fenwick, Cumberland County passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS with her family by her side.
Born in River Hebert, she was a daughter of the late James and Thelma (Wilson) Sutherland.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a wonderful friend who possessed a great sense of humour and care for others. She enjoyed knitting, baseball and curling and had an immence love for her furry friends. She enjoyed working for many years with her husband at the Halifax City Farmers Market. Shirley had a passion for cooking and loved a good joke and being a prankster.
She is survived by her husband Albert, one daughter Lori (Larry) Hayman of Fenwick, one step daughter Cathy (Tracy) Ripley of Quebec, one step son Robbie Ripley of Amherst, two granddaughters Lindsay (Brett) of Moncton and Lillian (Shaun) of Montague, PEI , step granddaughters Dominique and Kristen of Quebec, two great grandsons Brady and Zachery of Moncton, two brothers Douglas (Cleo) of Ontario and Donald (Rosemary) of Saskatchewan and several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was predeceased by a step son Paul Ripley.
Cremation has taken place.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst. (667-9906) with Rev. Marion Lloy officiating.
Interment will take place in the Fenwick Cemetery.
