PHILLIPS, FREDERICK - The death of Frederick Wallace Phillips, loving husband of Jane (Wood) Phillips, occurred peacefully on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with his family at his side. Born 1934 in Saint John he was the son of the late Murray and Mildred (Oram) Phillips. Fred worked as a steelworker for many years. He loved sports, especially Baseball, Hockey and Bowling. Besides his loving wife Jane of 52 years, he is survived by his son Wallace Phillips of Saint John and Kevin Phillips (Debbie) of Saint John; daughters Kimberley Ring (Gil) of Saint John, Deborah Phillips of Hampton and Susan Phillips of Saint John; grandchildren Tanya Ring, Candace Ring, Joel Phillips and Nicholas Phillips; several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother Bill and grandson William Phillips.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 2 p.m. Memorial donations in memory of Fred made to the Extra Mural Program or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
