Matilda ‘Tillie’ Madore age 80 of Seaview Manor, Glace Bay and a former resident of Cottage Avenue, Dominion, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex.
Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Alice (Nearing) Wilson. Tillie was a former member of St. Eugene's Church, Dominion. At one time she was employed as a telephone operator.
Tillie is survived by a daughter, Anita; son, Michael; sister, Evangeline Boutilier, Ont.; sister-in-law, Shirley Wilson, Glace Bay; aunt, Eileen Nearing, Glace Bay; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Tillie was predeceased by a brother, Knodell Wilson.
Visitation for Tillie Madore will be held Wednesday 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at St. Eugene's Church with Fr. Andrew Gillies officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
