ATWOOD, Emma Cecilia " Tela"– age 87 of the Villa St Joseph Du Lac passed away July 17th, 2018 at The Villa. Born in Yarmouth on January 29,1931 she was a daughter to the late Thomas and Marie (Doucette) Muise. Emma was a short order cook at the Flintstone Car Hop and was known to make the best rappie pie around. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching game shows, Sunday drives and BINGO. She is survived by her daughter Mary “Ernestine” Messenger, Milton Highlands; grandchildren, Joseph, Thomas, Melissa, Amanda; great grandchildren, Dylan, Harley, Chelby, Spencer. Besides her parents Emma was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Atwood Jr; son, Malcolm; daughter, Georgina; brothers, Stephen and Roy; sisters, Leona, Bernice, Erma, Phanie; and son-in-law, Basil. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There was a private graveside service in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Father Henry Smolenarrs officiated. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation .
