TITUS, Ruby Iona - formerly of Port Maitland, NS, age 100, passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on July 23, 2018. Born in Clark's Harbour on December 13, 1917 she was a daughter of the late Reginald and Eunice (Atwood) Swim. She is survived by her sons, Richard (Linda)Thompson, Port Maitland; Gerald (Rose Marie) Thompson, Woodvale; sister, Maureen (Finley) Penney, Halifax; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband Malcolm “Mac” Thompson and second husband W. Arthur Titus; son, R. Wayne Thompson; grandson, Mark A. Thompson. She was a member of the Bay View Baptist Church in Port Maitland and member of the Rebekah Lodge #8 Port Maitland. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held from 1 until 2 P.M. on Saturday, July 28th, 2018. A funeral service followed visitation at 2 P.M., Rev. Joyce Trask officiated, all in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Port Maitland/Beaver River Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Port Maitland/Beaver River Cemetery or Bay View Baptist Church in Port Maitland.
