Wilma Belle (Morrison) MacDonald passed away August 3, 2018 Sydney, NS.
The eldest child of the late Murdock Angus Morrison (1905-1973) and Sarah Kate (MacDonald 1899-1996). She was born in the family home overlooking the three rivers in North Framboise, Richmond County on December 29, 1930.
Wilma graduating from the Grace Maternity Hospital in 1953 and began her nursing career working on the fifth floor of the Sydney City Hospital with the exception of the time she was on maternity leave she remained until her retirement in 1985.
She enjoyed the daily Crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting and listening to Scottish music where also part of her daily routine.
Wilma is Survived by husband of 61 years, Neil; three sons, Scott (Karen), Calgary, Alberta, their Children, Cody and Victoria, Greg, Sydney, Sheldon (Annabelle), Antigonish; stepchildren, Edward (Sandie) and his children, Julie, Michael and Emily, Debbie, Derek (Karen), Jennifer (Jonathan), their Children, Makayla, Carter, Gavin, Ella and James; brother, Rev. Donald MacDonald (Marjorie), Bernice (Late Tom); sisters, Marion, Jean (Forrest); several nieces and nephews.
She is also predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence and Kenneth, in 2016.
She was one of the last native Gaelic speakers from North Frambosie and she enjoyed the music and culture and was and advocate for Scottish Heritage.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 1-3 on Wednesday in the S.W. Chant Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev Donald MacDonald officiating. A committal service will be held 11:30 Thursday in Framboise Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Framboise Hall.
