Wood, Gerald William - 81, Bible Hill passed away August 26, 2009 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Four Stones, Northumberland, England on August 5, 1928, he was the only child of the late William and Olive Wood. He served in the British Army for three years spending most of his time in Egypt. Gerald and Betty emigrated to Canada in 1967 where Gerald worked at Gestetner and later at Scotsburn Dairy. Jerry loved to cook, garden and look after his family. He was also an avid darts player in his day. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Lois (Black); his children, Kim (Richard) Bottomley, Fall River; Jan (Jack) Bates, Bible Hill; Simon (Angela) Wood, Debert and “Gramps” to his grandchildren, Mitchell, Ryan and Daniel Bates, Rebecca and Lauren Wood, Daniel and Josh Bottomley, all of whom will always miss the little black box. He was predeceased by his son, Michael. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 7-9 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro.
