It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Iris Mary (Gallant) Heald, 61, formerly of Amherst on Monday, May 16, 2011 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
She was born in Amherst, NS, she was a daughter of the late Hervey and Catherine (Callaghan) Gallant.
Left to mourn her passing, are her two daughters, Theresa (George Fagan) Mackey, and Crystal (Jared) Chitty both of Amherst; four granddaughters, Madelyn, Emma, Bailee, and Alyx; niece, Lori; nephews, Eric and Shawn; as well as her extended family. In Winnipeg Iris will be missed by her special friends, Don, Lois and long time friend, Donna.
Iris’s final wishes of returning to Nova Scotia were fulfilled by her daughters when they returned home from Winnipeg after a memorial service at the place of her death.
Cremation has taken place.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery with Mr. Charles Hurley officiating.
Memorial donations in Iris’s memory may be made to Autumn House, Amherst or charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst (667-9906).
