William Louis ‘Bill’ MacGillivary passed away peacfully on May 16,2011 in the Dartmouth General Hospital due to pulmonary fibrosis.
Born at home in South Bar C.B., he was the the son of the late Herbert and Ella (White) MacGillivary. He retired from the Provincial Government as Physical Plant Systems Coordinator, Dept. of Supply and Services.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Phyllis (McPhee); son, Vince, Dartmouth; daugther, Colleen, Victoria; grandson, Adam Storie; granddaughter, Meilssa Storie and great-granddaughter, Noella Storie-Davis, Victoria; his sisters, Connie Boone (Greg), New Waterford, Cecilia Nearing, (Tom), Guelph; sisters-in-law, Isabel MacGillivary, South Bar, Geraldine Larocque, Ottawa; many cousins, nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Herb; sisters, Jenny Kinsella, Rita Melnyk, Bernadette Bryden; two brothers and two sisters in childhood and sister-in-law, Iris Heney (Mike), Ottawa; brothers-in-law, Neil MacDonald, Bob Kinsella, Sander Melnyk and John Bryden.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Dartmouth with Fr. Paul MacGillivray officiating.
