Claudine Emma Hussey, 84 of Glace Bay passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the Glace Bay Healthcare Complex surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Green's Pond, Newfoundland she was the daughter of the late Andrew Janes and Maude Pickford Janes Wareham and stepfather William Wareham Sr.
She was a former member of Epworth United Church and a present member of St. Mary's Anglican Church, Glace Bay. In her earlier years she was active in the United Church Women's Group Russell and Circle Units. Claudine treasured time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by daughter, Rolonda Ulrich, Glace Bay; stepdaughter, Stella Huckle, Chatham, Ontario and stepson Robert (Mary) Hussey, Waterloo, Ontario. Also surviving are sisters, Jerusha (George) Roberts, Victorville, Ca., Barbara (Carl) Brownell, Chilliwack, B.C., Sharon (Emile) Fournier, Kingston, N.S. and brothers, William Wareham Jr., Glace Bay, Frank Janes, Glace Bay, Baxter Janes, Cambridge, Ontario, Howard Janes, Petawawa, Ontario, and Clyde (Bonnie) Wareham, Beaver Bank, N.S.
Claudine was predeceased by her husband, Albert Hussey; stepdaughter, Doris Wark; stepsons, Melvin Hussey and Jackie Hussey; brothers, Ernest, Samuel, and Elijah Wareham and Charles Janes and sisters, Patricia Nina Janes, Margaret Penny, Sarah Hennessey, Clara Hennessey and Dorothy Fukala. She will also be sadly missed by her favorite feline, Rajah.
Visitation for Claudine Hussey will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Friday, August 28, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held on Saturday August 29, 2009 at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Marconi Street, Glace Bay with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney Road.
