Peacefully at the South Shore Villa on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, of John “Joseph” Dawson of the South Shore Villa, Crapaud, formerly of Cape Traverse, age 89 years.
Beloved husband of the late Gladys Dawson (nee Norring). Dear father of Gary (Karin), Charlottetown; Nancy (Erwin) Mill, Inkerman; Brenda Cleaveland, Charlottetown; Wayne (Lynn), Cape Traverse; Roger (Lori), Kitchener, Ont. Grandfather of eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Mary Webster, Doris (Earl Fall), Cornwall; brother, Paul Dawson, Cornwall; sisters-in-law, Bertha Dawson and Louise Mills; as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, John H. and Mary Jane (nee Ramsay) Dawson; his twin brother, William (in infancy); grandson, William Mill; brothers, Cliff, Hazen and Barclay; sisters-in-law, Pearl, Eleanor and Betty; and brother-in-law, Vernon Webster.
Resting at the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, until Saturday, August 29, 2009, then to Cape Traverse United Church for funeral service at 10 a.m.
Visiting hours Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Interment in Floral Hills Cemetery.
