It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and sister, Marion Bell LeRoy, 96, a resident of the Northside Community Guest Home, on Monday, May 23, 2011, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Catherine (Bell) Robertson.
Mom loved music and singing, and she loved spending time with her family and friends, telling stories about her dear Scotland. She was member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
Surviving is her daughter, Marion (Ed) (Hancock) Clarke, Bras d’Or; her 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Reg (Mary) Clarke, Calgary; her stepsister, Sadie Wong, North Sydney; several nieces and nephews; also by her roommate and loving friend, Carolyn, at Northside Guest Home.
She was predeceased by her husband, John LeRoy, son, Robert (Bobby), daughter, Patsy LeRoy, grandson, William Hancock, great-grandson, Edward King, also predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
A funeral service for Marion will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, Rev. Jake Andrea officiating. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
