MacPherson, Mildred Juanita, age 92 of Middleton, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2018 in the Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Centre, Middleton. Born in Brooklyn, Annapolis County, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Essie (Neily) Fenerty. Mildred was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mildred graduated from Provincial Normal College, Truro, NS, with her teacher’s license in 1944. She taught in Middleton and District schools for 29 years, retiring in 1988. Outside of teaching and family, some would say Mildred had quite a social life. She was a lifetime member of the Rosemary Chapter IODE, a past member of the Soldiers Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a member of Middleton Baptist Church as well as church groups and bible studies. Mildred enjoyed spending time volunteering and did so with Meals on Wheels and other various groups in town. When she wasn’t volunteering, taking part in church groups, babysitting one of her four Grandchildren or golfing at the Eden or Paragon Golf Club Mildred could be found playing any type of card game. She especially enjoyed her many bridge groups and playing with her Rummoli friends. Mildred will be sadly missed by daughters, Marlene (Tom) Peters, Fredericton, NB and Elaine Craig (Todd Grant), Kentville; grandchildren, Jessica Peters, Toronto; Jody Peters, Fredericton; Jeffrey (Jeaneth Puriel) Foot, Kansas City, Missouri and Matthew (Cindy Boyle) Foot, Dartmouth; great-grandchildren Alexander, Sofia, Lauren, Fiona, Kiersten and great-great-grandson Kayden as well as cousins, nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her husband Russell Lloyd Craig; sister Marjorie Godson and brother Walter Fenerty. In keeping with Mildred’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service tool place at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 8, 2018 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902-825-3448. Following the service there was a reception for family and friends. After which there was a private family interment at Pine Grove Cemetery. Donations in memory of Mildred may be made to Pine Grove Cemetery or a charity of donor’s choice.
