Nov. 15, 1922 – May 21st, 2011, formerly from Bell Island. Passed peacefully away on Saturday, May 21st, 2011, at the Health Sciences Complex surrounded by his loving family after a short illness. A wonderful husband, father and Pop, James Howard Gosse, at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by his father Richard H. and Mother Lavina, also his brothers: George, Lloyd, and Selby, sisters-in-law: Rosalind, Pearl, and Patricia also brother-in-law Gordon, and grandson-in-law Jeffrey Webb. Leaving to mourn loving wife of 68 years Edith E. (Piercey); daughters: Gloria (Sandy) Brace, Maxine (Len) Winsor; Son James (Glenda); eight loving lrandchildren: Sherry (Bruce) Webb, Steven (Michelle) Brace, Jamie (Rachel) Brace, Beverley (Gene) Babb, Kimberley (Luis) Winsor, Byron, Stephanie (Liam) Sampson, Sarah (Stephen), and ten great-grandchildren: Michelle, Matthew, Daisha, Madelyn, Hailey, Morgan, Jesse, Jack, Jameson and Sophia; sisters: Doris Normore, Rose (Alec) Peddle, Brother Granville (Elizabeth); several nieces and nephews and a large circle of close friends and special neighbours at Masonic Park. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue Mount Pearl on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 25th at 2 p.m. from the Church of The Ascension, Mount Pearl. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery on Kenmount Road.
