Dennis Purdy passed away peacefully at home in his sleep after a lengthy illness on August 26, 2009. Dennis was born in Moose Jaw on September 19, 1945 to Phyllis and Bill Purdy. He was raised on the family farm. Dennis worked on the railway in his early years. He then worked at Kalium from 1968 - 1982 and then started working at the Union Hospital as a Steam Engineer. He worked there up until his illness kept him from working any longer. Dennis was an avid trap shooter and gardener. Dennis took pride in his grandchildren. They were his most prized possession. Predeceased by his infant brother Robert, father-in-law John, nephew David, father Bill, mother Phyllis, brother-in-law Ralph, and his mother-in-law Bonnie. Dennis is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years Diana; his daughters Tracey (Barry) Taylor, Kimberly (Kevin) Brown; grandchildren Hudson, Dalton, Lyla Taylor, Colton and Caylin Brown; brothers-in¬-law Ken (Rachel) Petroschuk, Gary (Bonnie) Petroschuk; sister-in-law Loraine Petroschuk; nephews Brad (Aimee), Michael (Deanne) and niece Kelly (Glenn). Donations can be made to the ALS Society, Box 31028, Normanview Mall, Regina, S4R 8R6. A private family service will be held. In living memory of Dennis, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.
