The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Thursday, September 20, 2018, of Peter Joseph Chaisson, formerly of Tignish, age 95 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Born at Harper Road on March 12, 1923, he was the son of the late Arthur and Margaret (nee Gallant) Chaisson. Dear brother of Irene Arsenault of Summerside, and dear uncle to many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Leona and by siblings, Rita Perry, Elmer of Harper Road, Sylvere of Toronto, Melvin of Harper Road, and Francis, who died in active duty during the Second World War. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton, for visiting hours Sunday, September 23rd, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Monday morning, September 24th, from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. John Molina, Celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to St. Simon and St. Jude Building Fund or to the Western Hospital, Alberton, would be gratefully appreciated.
