LORD, STEPHEN GREGORY - The death of Stephen Gregory Lord, husband of Germaine (Comeau) Lord, occurred on May 24, 2011 at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on March 7, 1947, he was the son of the late Gregory Lord and Marion (Toogood) Lord. Besides his wife Germaine and mother, he is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Lucien) Morand, and Julie Lord; grandchildren, Christina, Joey (Amanda), Stephanie, Jackie; great grandchild, Benjamin; sibling Dennis (Sue), Theresa (Ralph) LeBlanc, Joanne (Hal) Billiard, Kenny, Susan (Hugh) MacEachern, Tina (Peter) Hooper, Chris (Kathy). Stephen will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Stephen was predeceased by his father Gregory, and his brother James. Stephen was born and raised in Saint John, he graduated from St. Malachy’s High School, and St. Thomas University with honors in English. Stephen worked as a reporter for the Times Globe and throughout Eastern Canada. He worked at Centracare since 1982, and has been writing for the New Freeman for many years. Stephen was a past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 8094, and was very active with the Adoration Society and the Right to Life Association.
Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Thursday May 26, from 2 to 4, and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday May 27, from 2 to 4, and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday May 28, 2011 at 10 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church. The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, a reception will be held at the Assumption Center sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. The family would like to thank the palliative care ward at Saint John Regional Hospital and his co-workers at Centracare for all the compassion shown to Stephen.
