We the family of Dorothy Elizabeth MacGillivary regret to announce her passing Aug. 27, 2009, at home.
Born in Frenchvale, she was the daughter of the late Emanuel and Georgina (King) Anderson.
She lived most of her adult life in Westmount, she retired from Northside General Hospital. In her retirement she loved spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Hope (Jim), Charmaine, Faith; son, Albert MacGillivary; seven grandsons, Clint (Belinda), Joe (Donna), Garrie (Tracey), Clayton, Larry, Wayne, Donnie; four granddaughters, Sharon, Donna, Cathy, Debbie; three great-grandchildren, Krysta, Morgan and Jessica; five sisters, Thelma, Sheila, Helen, Doreen, Joan; seven brothers, Kenny, Harold, Blair, Frank, Brian, Grant, Bruce; and many nieces and nephews. As well as some special friends, Jenny, Susan, Jamie, Amanda, Shirley, Cecil and Lorraine and her constant companions, Roxie and Shy.
Besides her parents Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, John, son, Jackie, daughter, Darlene, brother, Gerald and sister, Joyce.
Visitation will take place Sunday, Aug. 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the S.W Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St. Sydney. A celebration of life will be held Monday, Aug. 31 in the chapel at 2 p.m. with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating.
