ALBERT (BERT) CHARLES GAMBLE, loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully in his home on August 26, 2009 at the age of 90. Bert was the third child of seven children (brothers: Lorne, Arnold, Donald and sisters: Margaret, Bernice and Jeanette) Bert was born the 17th of March 1919 near Dorion, Ontario to Marie White and Walter Gamble. The family returned to Moose Jaw in the early 20’s to farm. Bert married the love of his life Mary North on February 28, 1941 in Moose Jaw. Bert served in WWII with the Royal Canadian Air Force and retired from the Canadian Public Works after a rewarding career. Bert cherished the many years he farmed near Moose Jaw. Bert enjoyed every moment he had as a member of the Antique Automobile Club of Moose Jaw as well as was proud of his fifty year membership with the Royal Canadian Legion. Bert is survived by his six children: Bob, Walter, Cathy, Ab, Curtis and Susan, his eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Bert is predeceased by his wife, Mary, grandson Chad and great-grandson, Logan Clarke. Family and friends are invited to a loving farewell for Bert at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 59, 268 High St. W., Moose Jaw on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. Royal Canadian Legion Rites will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. by Roscoe Steele. Albert and Mary will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in the Veterans section of Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to give a donation to a charity of your choice.
