Mary Jane MacMullin, 82 of Glace Bay was carried home in the arms of the angels on Friday, August 28, 2009.
Born in Anderson’s Cove, Nfld., she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian (Hatch) Barnes.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Edison; daughters, Evelyn and Almeta and son, Elwood (Gail) and “special daughtersâ€, Jean Smith and Gaye Squires. Mary Jane is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and by brothers, Frederick, Gerald, Angus, all of Newfoundland and very dear friend, Mary Skinner.
She was predeceased by sisters, Bessie, Effie and Sadie.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. By request there will be no visitation. A celebration of Mary Jane’s life will take place on Monday, August 31, 2009 11 a.m. at the Salvation Army Chapel, Union Street, Glace Bay with Captain Christian and Lesley Simms officiating. Reception and fellowship to follow in the church hall.
Memorial donations may be given to the Glace Bay Corp of the Salvation Army.
