It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Denys Wayne Morgan Short on October 13, 2018, at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, AB. Denys was born on November 29, 1950 in Fogo, NL, to Rev. Tobias and E. Maude (nee Morgan) Short. Leaving to mourn his brother David and sisters Geraldine (Larry) Laudenbach and Judith (Bert) Rose as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind numerous caring friends, in both Newfoundland and Calgary, including dear friends Larry and Sean. They meant the world to him. The family would like to also give a special thank-you to the team at the Calgary Zone Palliative Home Care. Their compassion and understanding went well beyond expectations. Denys had a rare perspective of seeing and enjoying this world, that could be perceived through his amazing photographs, his many different genres of records, and his quick, insightful wit. He will be deeply missed. In living memory of Denys Short, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB. A donation in Denys’ memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion.
