Alfred Bernard McCourt passed away peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, May 26, 2011 of Alfred Bernard McCourt, of Cornwall and formerly of Kinkora, age 61 years. Beloved husband of Minerva (nee McDonald) McCourt, and dear father of Dwayne (Colleen) and Melanie McCourt. Brother of Justin (Velda) McCourt and the late Louis (Frances) McCourt. Son of the late Mervin and Myrtle (Duffy) McCourt. Brother-in-law to Paul (Lois) MacDonald, Peter (Lana) McDonald, Mike (Joyce) McDonald, Susie (Wayne) Walsh, Elizabeth (Heath) MacDonald, Marion (Danny) McDonald, Corrinne (Brian) MacPhail, Joanne (Geoff) Proud, Bev (John) O'Connor, Brenda (Lloyd) Compton and Pam MacFadyen. Loved uncle to many nieces, nephews and their families. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home for visitation on Saturday from 5-8 p.m., and Sunday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Monday morning with funeral mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Cornwall at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in the family plot at St. Martin's of Tours & St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alfred's memory may be made to Pat & the Elephant or the PEI Literacy Alliance. Due to allergies, please refrain from using scented products.
