MELANSON, EDMÉE - Edmée Melanson, 100, wife of the late Alphonse Melanson, of Scoudouc, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011 at The Moncton Hospital following a sudden illness. Born October 16, 1910 in Grande-Digue, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Bourgeois) Bourque. She is survived by her four children: Raymonde Dutcher (Robert), Donald (Annette), and Rheal (Jeanne) all of Scoudouc, Normand (Carmelle) of Memramcook; seven grandchildren: Victor, Liette, Charline, Guy, Michel, Pierre, Sophie; four great-grandchildren: Erica, Stephane, Miguel, and Melissa; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Alphonse in 1991, an infant son, Omer (1944); five sisters: Alice (1993), Emma (1990), Florine (1961), Lina (1994), and Bertha (1970); four brothers: Arthur (1998), Anselme (1991), Edgar (1999), and Camille (2006). She was the last survivor of her immediate family.
The family will receive condolences Monday, May 30th at Frenette Funeral Home, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297). Visiting hours from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Jacques-le-Majeur R.C. Church, Scoudouc, Tuesday, May 31 at 9 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
