Age 97, Truro, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Brookside, NS, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Mahala (Rhyno) Bartlett. Emma owned and operated Cameo Beauty Shop on East Prince Street, Truro for several years. She was a member of Brunswick Street United Church, Truro, and the UCW. She was an avid card player, bridge player and loved senior’s bowling.
She is survived by her daughters, Joan Smith, Truro, Gae Crossman (Alan), Crowes Mills; grandchildren, Cyril, Cindy, David, Cory, Aaron, Jason; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Helen), Truro, Cecil (Floris), Ontario; sister-in-law’s, Edie Bartlett, Bible Hill, Ora Bartlett, Ontario; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Elmer, Graham, Edgar, Herbie, Eric; sisters, Marie, Mildred, Nellie, Edna.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. No visitation by request. A family graveside service will take place at a later date in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of choice.
