ROBICHAUD, ROGER - 1929-2011 - Roger Robichaud, 81, of Bouctouche passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste Bouctouche. He was married to Germaine (Tremblay) Robichaud. Born in Saint-Antoine on July 12, 1929 he was the son of the late Amédée and the late Eugénie (Richard) Robichaud. Roger was a well known business man; he owned and operated Hilltop Motel from 1961 to 1991. He was also very active in the community, having served as Secretary to the Board of Directors of the Bouctouche Co-Op, member of the Golden Age Club of Bouctouche, president of the Chambre of Commerce of Bouctouche young members, member of the Richelieu Club of Richiboucto and Bouctouche, member of the Kof C of Chatham, co-founder of the K of C 3rd degree Bouctouche, co-founder of the K of C 4th degree Mgr Philippe Hebert of Bouctouche, co-founder of the K of C 4th degree of Cocagne, member of the Social Services Appeal Commission, member of the pastoral team for the Bouctouche Church for over twenty years. Roger had a passion for travel, reading, carpentry and crafts. He will be sadly missed by his wife Germaine, his daughter Gisèle (Raymond) Léger of Sainte-Marie, his sons; Raymond (Gisèle), Louis (Aurella), Marc (Sonia) all of Bouctouche, eight grandchildren, Michel, Yves, Andrew, Larissa, Céline, Brian, Chloé, Monica, his three sisters, Irene Melanson, Rita Maillet both of Saint-Antoine, Antonine (Alphonse) Savoie of Bouctouche and one brother Joseph of Fitchburg, Ma. Roger was pre-deceased by one sister Berthe and four brothers, Emile, Louis, Zenon and Yvon.
Visitation will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l`église, Bouctouche on Monday May 30, 2011 from 7 to 9pm and Tuesday from 1 to 2:45pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 3:00pm with interment in the parish cemetery. In Roger's memory donations can be made to the Parkinson Society or to the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste.
