It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Tamar Daye, 77, on December 29, 2018 at the Glace Bay Hospital with loving family at her side.
Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Abigail (Mahoney) Stoliar.
Tamar was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Glace Bay Hospital from 1962 until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church and Social Club, Ladies Bowling League and former president of the local Nurses Union.
Tamar is survived by her loving husband, Patrick Daye; daughter, Leslie (Paul) Burke; son, Brian Daye; grandchildren, Candace, Jared and Abigail; sister, Sherry (Donald) Locke; brother, William (Florence) Stoliar.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters, Mary Stoliar, Laura Cuzner, Lena MacKenzie and Anne Baird; brothers, Nicholas and George.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 in St. Mary’s Anglican Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Myrna MacMullin officiating. Interment to take place at a later date.
