It is with great sadness, but in celebration of the life of a wonderful man, that we announce the passing of Eddy. Edward left us peacefully at home, on May 14, 2011, after a life of dedication to his wife, children, grand-children, and great-grand-child.
Eddy was born in Sydney, N.S. on Dec. 2, 1927, son of the late Salvo and Frances (Lyons) Mizzi. Eddy retired from Firestone after 25 years of working to support his family. He was always the life of the party at gatherings, and was a Jack of all trades. He was an avid reader, especially about his beloved country, Canada. He, along with his wife Anna, did everything they could to give their four children the best lives possible.
Loving husband of Anna (Huczyszyn) for 60 years. Dear father of Paulina (Douglas, predeceased) Summerfield, Edward (Bari) Mizzi, Virginia (Robert) Gutauskas, and Cynthia (Tony) Leite. Much loved grand-father of nine grand-children and a great-grand-son.
Also survived by his sisters, Mary Ferguson, Cecelia Marusiak, and Eileen Baldwin.
Predeceased by sisters Melita Newton, Esther Meloche, Rita Coleman, Margaret Mizzi, and brother George.
Funeral Mass was celebrated in Hamilton, ON, on Wed., May 18, 2011.
