Surrounded by her loving family, Carmie passed away peacefully Monday, May 30, 2011, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Reserve Mines, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Jessie Livingstone.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 40 years, Bill Carey; her sons, Todd and wife, Stacey, and Trevor; her grandchildren, Nolan and Brylee, who were the absolute pride and joy of her life. Carmie is survived by her sisters, Colleen (Gary), Donna (Louie) and Dolorosa (Ray); her brothers, Martin and Danny (Louise); her sisters-in-law, Evelyn Gardiner (Doug) and Irene LeBeouf (Clem).
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law, Tom and Mary Carey, brother-in-law, Sonny and sisters-in-law, Margaret and Mary.
There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
